It Pays to Be Thankful

There are so many things to be thankful for - family, friends, life, health, and so on. I do my best to see the things that I have and not focus on what I don't have. It helps me to be thankful and to take nothing for granted. My prayer for you today is that you will only see the things you have and be thankful for them. God had blessed you with more than you realize. With a thankful heart, He will give you even more than you have, and again you can give thanks.

As Thanksgiving approaches, may you be able to reflect on your life and focus on the things that you can be thankful for. May these Haikus below be an encouragement to you.

Sometimes we feel broken and think that we will never be great. That is far from the truth. You can do all things through Christ who gives you the strength ( Philippians 4:13). It's up to you not be broken anymore, but find the strength in Christ to be made whole.

There's Greatness in You

It's amazing how easy it is to listen to everyone else, except the God who made you. There's greatness in everyone, but it's up to each individual to find Him. I hope you will be inspired today to tap into God's

In Times Like These

In times like these... (fill in the blank), it is sometimes difficult to get over and have the energy to see the light at the end of the tunnel. No matter what's going on and how you feel, God is still there. Don't give up and don't lose hope, because things will get better.

Keep it Up

Have you ever wonder why you feel so down, and can't seem to get over? I have. I realize when I get into a slump is because I am not consistently connecting to God. My worship has decreased somehow. I got caught up with the cares of life instead of keeping my eyes on God.

When you stay connected to God through prayer, the bible, and singing, your soul is uplifted. You also build confidence in knowing that you can do all things through Christ that gives you the ability to accomplish much in this life. God has so much to offer you. Be encouraged today, and stay connected to God.

My Guiding Light - Haiku

The best time I find to reflect on God and His goodness is in meditation. It's an awesome experience when I allow His Spirit to overshadow me with love and grace. I've learn so much when I just sit still, and let God
speak to me in whatever way He chooses.

A Place Called Home

Home is where learning begins and human behavior is developed. Hopefully the things experienced there are positive and valuable lessons that will take each person to a purposeful path in life.

Self Discovery

Discovering who you are and whose you are is important when fulfilling God's purpose in your life. You are special and unique. There's greatness in you, and God has place all the gifts and talents in you to do awesome things on this earth. Thank God for His Angels!

"And he will give his angels charge over you, to keep you ...." (Psalms 91:11-12)

What a powerful verse of scripture!

It makes me reflect on a time when I was in my early teens living on the outskirts of Overtown, near Downtown Miami. It was on a beautiful Sunday evening when my family and I was preparing to leave for church service only to be alerted that we must be careful because there was a gun man in the area. For some reason we were reluctant to be mindful of the warning because we headed out the door as planned. As we got situated in the car, I remember looking out the window and seeing about six Cadillacs lined up behind each other as young men came out of their cars with machine guns in their hands. I must say I was shocked! The word was "a gun man was in the area." Well, it was not one isolated person with a gun, but many young African-American men who came out shooting their guns at someone or people, and I am not sure who the person or persons were. All I knew is we were caught in the middle of a shooting spree.
