Get a Life before Life Gets You

It's so easy to get caught up in the "woulda, coulda, shoulda" mentality and have nothing to show for it. I know I am tired of being weighed down by life and only dreaming of what I can do, instead of just doing it.

2013 is here, so let's take each day to get closer to making our dreams a reality. Write down what you want to see happen in 2013, and find a way to make it happen. At least that's what I will do. I have a life and I will not allow life to get me anymore. Get me how, you ask? Get me in fear, loss of focus, negative thoughts, and anything else that would keep me from pursuing my dreams. I want to always keep moving forward. Even if I make mistakes, the point is to keep moving and be better.

It's time to be inspired to do great things this year. Not because of a resolution, but an opportunity to see how impactful my life can be for me and for others. It doesn't have to be a big idea, but just small things that eventually will lead to big things. I am excited to see what each day will bring.

Will you do it too? I encourage you to embrace the idea, and go get a life!

Say a Prayer: End Fear and Breathe Faith

Dear Heavenly Father,

I remember how you took away my fears and cause me to breathe faith when I began to understand your love and purpose for my life. It was a challenging journey, but I now feel liberated, motivated, courageous, and bold to stand up and stand out.

Today, I pray that you will deliver all who may be experiencing pangs of fear, confusion, and helplessness. May this day birth the faith that moves all negativity, so as they breathe your air and recognize that they are still here, they would allow you to show them what they can be when they let you lead. As you have said in your word, "who the son sets free is free indeed." Let freedom be embraced, and let the joy that faith brings be experienced today, in Jesus's name. Amen.

Be encourage and don't give up! Have a blessed day.

Why Don't I Have Enough Time?

Life can become so overwhelming; especially, when there are so many things to get done. Plus, the time to do those many tasks get lost in the shuffle. Many believe their busy schedule is the culprit for not having
enough time to get things completed, but in actuality it's their time management that needs to be addressed and mastered. Some of the things that keep most from managing time well are putting off tasks, trying to do too many things at once, and not being able to decipher between what needs to be done now versus what can be put off for a later time.

As a working mom, keeping up with deadlines can become burdensome if I do not organize my time. However, through the years I have come to realize that I needed to get rid of the clutter in my mind before I could manage my time effectively. One day, a light bulb went off in my head when the answer to what was hurting me stared me right in the face. It was something I discovered that I now call "time killers." It's amazing how getting rid of them have changed my life. I will talk about it another post.

Share your thoughts on the things that have held you back from getting things done in a timely manner.

Let It Flow

We are our greatest enemy, and our greatest critique. We often hold ourselves down from doing the things that are deep seated in our hearts. We must learn to let the talents and gifts that God has given us, move us into living a successful and fulfilling life. Don’t hold yourself back any longer. Go get what’s yours.

I pray "Let it Flow" inspires you.

Make an Imprint Today!

Have you ever thought about what kind of mark you are leaving in this world as you go through your day? Are you spreading love, joy, and peace to your environment, or are you causing pain, anger, and misery? Well, I have thought about these questions and aim to spread joy, love, and peace to my surroundings.

I believe every step I take should be one of purpose, one that has an impact in my environment, and in the world I live in. The only way this can truly be accomplished successfully is to do things God’s way.

Thank God for His Angels!

"And he will give his angels charge over you, to keep you ...." (Psalms 91:11-12)

What a powerful verse of scripture!

It makes me reflect on a time when I was in my early teens living on the outskirts of Overtown, near Downtown Miami. It was on a beautiful Sunday evening when my family and I was preparing to leave for church service only to be alerted that we must be careful because there was a gun man in the area. For some reason we were reluctant to be mindful of the warning because we headed out the door as planned. As we got situated in the car, I remember looking out the window and seeing about six Cadillacs lined up behind each other as young men came out of their cars with machine guns in their hands. I must say I was shocked! The word was "a gun man was in the area." Well, it was not one isolated person with a gun, but many young African-American men who came out shooting their guns at someone or people, and I am not sure who the person or persons were. All I knew is we were caught in the middle of a shooting spree.
